Job Summary
The Skilled Production Operative will play a crucial role in Envergia’s battery recycling process. This position involves operating and maintaining equipment used in pre-shredding, material drying, shredding, and material separation processes. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation: Operate machinery used in the pre-shredding, shredding, drying, and sieving of materials, ensuring that all processes run smoothly and efficiently.
- Material Handling: Manage the flow of materials through the different stages of processing, ensuring that material is appropriately shredded, dried, and separated into the correct fractions.
- Process Monitoring: Continuously monitor the production line for any irregularities or issues, making adjustments as necessary to maintain optimal operation.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines.
- Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment to prevent downtime and ensure that all machinery operates at peak efficiency.
- Quality Control: Ensure that the final output meets the quality standards set by the company by performing regular checks and inspections during the production process.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other production operatives, team leads, and supervisors to coordinate activities and ensure smooth operation across shifts.
- Reporting: Document production metrics, maintenance activities, and any incidents or irregularities for review by management.
Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in recycling or materials processing.
- Technical Skills: Familiarity with operating and maintaining industrial machinery, particularly in shredding, drying, and material separation processes.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the production process.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to quickly identify and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime.
- Physical Stamina: Capability to work in a physically demanding environment, including lifting and moving heavy materials.
