Lead Production Supervisor

Job Summary

The Lead Production Supervisor will oversee and coordinate the daily activities of the production operatives at Envergia’s recycling facility. This role is responsible for ensuring that all processes related to pre-shredding, material drying, shredding, and material separation are carried out efficiently and safely. The Supervisor will also be tasked with maintaining quality standards, managing a team, and ensuring compliance with safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Leadership: Supervise and lead a team of production operatives, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee the daily operation of machinery used in pre-shredding, shredding, drying, and sieving processes, ensuring optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Process Coordination: Coordinate the flow of materials through different stages of processing, working closely with other supervisors and management to meet production targets.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all production output meets the company’s quality standards, conducting regular inspections and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
  • Safety Management: Enforce safety protocols and procedures, ensuring that all team members are properly trained in safety practices and that PPE is used appropriately.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Schedule and oversee routine maintenance of equipment, collaborating with maintenance teams to address issues promptly and minimize disruptions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and submit detailed reports on production metrics, team performance, equipment status, and any incidents or irregularities to senior management.
  • Problem-Solving: Act as the first point of contact for resolving operational issues, making real-time decisions to keep the production line running efficiently.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and work with management to implement best practices that enhance productivity and safety.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Extensive experience in a production or manufacturing environment, with prior supervisory or leadership roles, preferably in recycling or materials processing.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of operating and maintaining industrial machinery used in shredding, drying, and material separation processes.
  • Quality and Safety Focus: Commitment to maintaining high standards of quality and safety in all production activities.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to make quick and effective decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and management.
