Job Summary
The Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation and enforcement of HSEQ policies and regulations across our Michigan facility. This role involves conducting inspections, audits, and providing leadership to establish and maintain a strong safety and quality culture within the organization. The HSEQ Manager will work closely with the broader Envergia team to identify potential hazards, develop mitigation strategies, ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, and uphold the highest standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of the facility to ensure compliance with established HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Identify potential hazards, risks, and quality issues, developing mitigation plans to reduce or eliminate these risks.
- Monitor and track all HSEQ-related incidents and accidents, preparing reports for senior management.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and develop preventive measures.
- Provide guidance and training to all project personnel, including employees and contractors, on HSEQ policies and procedures.
- Coordinate with local authorities and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and permit requirements.
- Participate in the development and implementation of emergency response plans and procedures.
- Carry out drills and exercises to prepare for managing emergency situations.
- Participate in project planning, providing input on HSEQ-related issues such as the selection of materials and equipment.
- Assess and approve subcontractor safety and quality plans and documentation.
- Continuously monitor and update safety and quality-related documents, reports, and issues.
Requirements
- University education in health, safety, environment, quality, or a similar field.
- Extensive health, safety, and quality experience in the USA, preferably within manufacturing, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries.
- 5+ years of experience with Michigan health, safety, and quality legislation and its application.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 9001 standards.
- Strong knowledge of standardization, data analysis, and policy development.
- Understanding and experience with risk assessment, risk investigation methods, and quality management.
- Proven leadership and coaching experience with both groups and individuals.
- Ability to communicate clear guidelines within a multinational organization.
- Excellent spoken and written English; knowledge of other languages is a plus.
