Job Summary
Envergia is seeking a skilled and dedicated Facilities/Maintenance Lead to join our team in the Metro Detroit area. This role is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our facilities, including the oversight of all maintenance personnel and activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the maintenance department, managing all maintenance employees and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Prepare work schedules, assign tasks, and supervise the performance of maintenance personnel.
- Coach, counsel, and manage the development and performance of maintenance staff.
- Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for all applicable equipment and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
- Arrange and oversee the work of third-party contractors as needed, ensuring all work meets company standards.
- Report directly to the Operations Manager, communicating any issues that could impede plant operations.
- Provide technical expertise on plant equipment and facilities, offering hands-on support to maintain operations.
- Implement, maintain, and support company policies and procedures, including safety programs and good housekeeping practices.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance department to enhance the longevity and performance of the site’s equipment.
- Actively participate in planning and executing facility outages, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
- Maintain records related to mechanical integrity, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards.
- Provide on-call and weekend duty coverage as part of a designated rotation to support continuous operation.
Key Qualifications/Experience
- Strong focus on safety, treating it as the top priority in all activities.
- 5+ years of experience in operations maintenance leadership, with a history of increasingly responsible positions.
- High school diploma or GED with vocational education in electrical or mechanical fields, or at least 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in production operations.
- Excellent communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel.
